"Eureka Seven" follows the story of Renton Thurston, a young boy living in a world where people can harness the power of "trapar" to ride on giant surfboards called LFOs (Light Finding Operations). Renton dreams of becoming a "Gekkostate" member, a group of rebels that ride LFOs and oppose the oppressive government and military. In the first half of the series, Renton's life changes when a mysterious girl named Eureka crashes into his life along with her giant robot, the Nirvash. Renton helps Eureka and joins the Gekkostate, slowly learning about their mission to fight against the government and uncover the truth behind the mysterious "Scub Coral" and its connection to their world. As Renton embarks on various missions with the Gekkostate, he faces numerous challenges, battles against enemies, and begins to understand his feelings for Eureka. Their relationship develops as they confront their pasts and the nature of their existence. Throughout episodes 1 to 26, themes of love, friendship, and the impact of war are explored, with Renton evolving from a naïve boy to a more mature individual. The relationships within the Gekkostate, particularly between Renton, Eureka, and the other members, deepen as they face external threats and internal struggles.
